Hard capsules as a "go to" format for food supplements
Convenience is key
The hard capsule is one of the most popular dosage forms for food supplements - this is clear from the product inquiries we receive time and time again. After all, in order to make your food supplement accessible to consumers and encourage them to integrate your product into their daily routine, handling must be practical above all else.
Hard capsules are particularly suitable for this, as the capsule shells filled with powder or granules are tasteless, require no preparation and are easy to swallow. All these advantages make your product suitable for everyday use.

Encapsulation - from powder to capsule
For a classic hard capsule, a powder mixture or granulate is filled into capsule shells in a process known as encapsulation. Biohealth currently has 7 semi-automatic machines and 6 fully automatic machines available for this purpose in order to manufacture your products efficiently.
However, before encapsulation can begin, the suitable capsule shells and capsule sizes for you must be selected.
Capsule shells and capsule sizes available from Biohealth
For a long time, the standard for capsule production was a capsule shell made of gelatine - similar to soft capsules. The advantage: gelatine swells in water and dissolves when heated. This allows the capsule to release the active ingredients in the human body after ingestion.
However, due to increasingly conscious consumer behavior, vegan shells, for example made from hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, have now also found their way into our standard range.
These HPMC capsule shells are available from us in both conventional and organic quality!
We can encapsulate both variants in the sizes 000, 00, 0, 1 and 3. We also offer capsule shells that enable a delayed release of the active ingredient. You have the choice between release in the stomach or later release in the intestine.

Liquid-filled hard capsules
Capsules with a difference!
Are you wondering whether hard capsules always have to be filled with powder? No!
We are delighted that we can now also offer you liquid-filled hard capsules! This allows the ingredients to be absorbed more quickly by the body as they are already in dissolved form. This allows you to combine the advantage of dissolved ingredients with the practicality of capsules for your customers!
So let's develop your next product as a liquid-filled hard capsule!
Well packaged is half the battle!
To round off your hard capsule product perfectly, you now need the right packaging. Depending on the target group, this can range from individual cans to large containers.
Blister packs (optionally also in folding boxes), membrane tins or glass jars are practical for end consumers. Thanks to our full service concept, we can of course deliver your goods ready-labeled and packaged on request.
If required, you can also get support from our graphics department!
