Collagen type II: the "cartilage collagen"; makes up half of the proteins in cartilage alone
Collagen type III: an important component of reticular fibers in connective tissue; occurs in vascular walls and skin, among other things

In the course of the ageing process, a decrease in collagen in the skin, connective tissue and bones can be observed. This is why many people now like to take collagen supplements and collagen-based products are still very much in vogue in the food supplement sector. Collagen hydrolysates are used in supplements. Compared to the original collagen, these are already broken down into their components - the amino acids - and can therefore be absorbed more quickly by the body and used for its own collagen production. As the original protein structure is dissolved during hydrolysis, the collagen hydrolysate itself no longer has a collagen type, unlike the original collagen.

In addition to vitamin C, zinc, vitamin A and biotin are also suitable supplements for the beauty sector, as these also contribute to the maintenance of normal skin.
