Everything to do with the immune system

From vitamins to medicinal mushrooms

Spring is luring everyone out of their homes and the days are getting longer. Nevertheless, it's good to start thinking about the autumn immune boost now. In this issue, we also introduce you to our Regulatory Affairs department.

The immune system: the body's defense system

The immune system is a complex network of cells, organs and tissues that protects our body from disease. It defends our body by fighting invading pathogens such as bacteria, viruses and parasites. The immune system consists of two lines of defense: the innate and the acquired immune system.

The innate immune system is the body's first line of defense and reacts immediately to invading pathogens. It includes barriers such as the skin and mucous membranes as well as cells such as macrophages and natural killer cells.

The acquired immune system, also known as the adaptive immune system, develops over the course of a lifetime and forms a specific response to each pathogen. It consists of T-cells, B-cells and antibodies that maintain an immunological memory response to protect the body against future infections.

A healthy immune system is crucial for good health, as it not only fights infections, but can also recognize and destroy pathologically altered cells, such as those that occur in cancer. It is important to support the immune system by eating a balanced and balanced diet, getting enough exercise, getting enough sleep and avoiding bad habits such as smoking.

Natural ingredients to strengthen the immune system

Below we present important substances for strengthening the immune system, all of which we can incorporate into products for an extra immune boost for you:

Vitamin C: It is a powerful antioxidant that supports immune function and can reduce inflammation in the body.

Vitamin D: The "sun vitamin" plays an important role in regulating the immune system. A vitamin D deficiency can also manifest itself in the form of depression. The vitamin is produced by our skin in combination with sunlight and can therefore only be available to a limited extent in the darker seasons. Especially in the winter months, when there is a lack of sunlight, supplementation for an immune boost can be useful.

Zinc: This mineral is important for the normal functioning of the immune system and can help to shorten the duration of colds.

Vital mushrooms: They are all the rage and are said to have numerous positive effects on the immune system.

Echinacea: Echinacea is a plant that is used to improve immune function and reduce the severity of colds.

Of course, there are plenty of other ingredients that we can use in your new product.
