Review Biofach 2024
Trend scouting is one of our favorite jobs: we were out and about at Biofach, the world's leading trade fair for organic food, and were inspired by new raw materials, products and concepts. As a full service partner, we not only produce food supplements for you, but also see ourselves as a source of ideas and inspiration for new products.
Whether it's tangy kombucha drinks, refreshing sparkling kefir water, compostable packaging, various hemp products, collagen coffee or excellent vegan cheese made from almonds and field beans, we discovered many interesting concepts at Biofach. Vegan organic proteins made from linseed, pea, hemp, sunflower, lupin and pumpkin are still on trend. Plant-based proteins continue to enjoy growing demand.
We have created a matching product for you - our organic multi-protein shake with chocolate flavor. This impresses with a pleasantly dark, chocolaty note. It is sweetened with natural organic coconut blossom sugar. As the aromatic organic cocoa is the main flavor, the sweetness is only used subtly. The organic protein shake contains organic vegetable proteins from five different sources (pea, sunflower, hemp, linseed and pumpkin) - including two sprouted proteins. We would be happy to send you a sample. We are of course also available for other organic inquiries.

Legal information on organic products
There are many legal pitfalls to consider when developing organic products. Did you know, for example, that there are restrictions on the use of flavorings in organic products? Only organic flavorings or flavorings suitable for organic use may be used in organic products. In the case of organic flavors, all flavoring ingredients and all carrier substances come from organic production. Organic flavorings are conventional raw materials that may be used in organic food to a maximum of 5%. Their flavoring component may only consist of natural flavoring substances and extracts and must consist of 95% of the flavoring's namesake ingredient. For example, a natural lemon flavouring is only suitable for organic use if at least 95% of the flavouring component comes from the lemon.
The restriction to organic flavourings and flavourings suitable for organic use also often makes the development of organic products a challenge in terms of taste. In contrast to conventional flavors and natural flavors without organic suitability, these are usually less intense in taste. That is why we are always on the lookout for new flavors, especially in the organic sector, in order to offer you the best possible taste experience.
It should also be noted that only a limited selection of additives is permitted in the organic sector. This means that the selection of possible sweeteners or thickeners is significantly smaller than for a conventional product. A table of permitted additives for organic food can be found in Regulation 2021/1165. However, the Food Additives Regulation 1333/2008 must not be ignored. An additive may only be used in a specific organic product if it is approved both for organic products in accordance with Regulation 2021/1165 and for the corresponding product category in accordance with Regulation 1333/2008.
We will be happy to assist you with our expertise and develop your individual organic product so that you don't have to worry about this.
